MD2BP - Snapshot and Transform Market Data
md2bp couples Green Hat's configurable business process kit with common market data platforms such as Triarch, TIB and RMDS. It runs at discreet intervals and snapshots market information from any source available in the market data system. Intervals are configurable, as are the subjects to be obtained.
md2bp includes powerful features for formatting and transferring information. As well as any flat file format you wish to use, XML file formats are supported, as well as XSL, allowing data to be transformed on its journey through the system.
Transport options include email and FTP and information can be arbitrarily filtered. md2bp can copy the same information to multiple files without requiring further snapshots, thus delivering maximum performance and synchronicity. Information can also be inserted into a database.
The output format of a file is flexible, allowing various different files to be created. Filenames can be varied automatically (e.g. to contain today's date) and automatic content can also be included (such as timestamps). Static files of lookup information can also be included to allow information to be mapped.
md2bp can be deployed in a fault-tolerant configuration, automatically giving resilience between servers.
An optional web front-end allows the system to be triggered on demand, and for the log file to be viewed remotely.
The solution runs on the majority of platforms, including Linux, Windows 95/98/NT/2000 and most flavours of UNIX.
