Green Hat Consulting Announces Latest Version Of Enterprise-Wide Network Monitoring Tool For TIBCO Users

LONDON – June 17th, 2004 - As part of an ongoing programme of new releases of its GH Tools suite of products, Green Hat Consulting today announced the General Availability of GH Viewer v3.0.

This latest release provides many significant enhancements, designed in response to customer feedback and to support Green Hat Consulting's forthcoming Integration Lifecycle Support Methodology. Building on the strength of the product first released back in 2000, v3.0 sees a major upgrade to the graphing module, offering access to a wide range of charting formats and data combinations that were previously unavailable.

GH Viewer provides significant benefits to users’ businesses:

  • It provides an at-a-glance, real-time and user-configurable view across the entire TIBCO network enabling support staff to check on the status at all times
  • Potential problems (in the form of bottlenecks or hotspots, for example) can be easily identified before they start to cause degradations to service or costly service outages
  • The traffic profile can be easily compared to the "standard" traffic profile to enable any anomalies to be identified and resolved
  • Customers can view traffic levels of new releases, to create a projection of impact on the network. This facilitates robust application roll-outs, with no surprises.

Technical Notes
Facilities available in version 3.0 include:

  • Can be run in either MDI window or Tabbed pane mode.
  • Content can be viewed using a powerful and fully configurable split pane component. These can be nested to any depth.
  • Configurable chart component allows plotting of fields using multiple value (vertical) axis, multiple stacked charts sharing a common time axis or a mixture of the two.
  • The scatter charts and bar charts can be saved or printed.
  • Charts can be zoomed by dragging.
  • The data can be filtered based on the network and group id values, allowing separate display of different services if required.
  • Screens can be created or modified by the user, and saved to a file for sharing amongst the team.
  • Can be used with the server daemon application to analyse historical RV traffic data that has been collected by the server.
  • Client can be used without a server to monitor/view real time RV traffic data. Graphs update in real-time.
  • Can create multiple datasources with each potentially connected to a different server daemon process, allowing very flexible deployment options.
  • The various components such as chart, bar charts, raw data, host information etc are linked such that selecting a table row updates the other components or zooming the chart restricts the data range for the raw data component.
